Beginners guide to 3D Graphics Object and Arduino Embedded Devices

In this workshop the student will learn the features and capability of the 2D/3D Graphics software 123D Design as well as how to program the Arduino embedded device. Part of this workshop is to teach student the various technique and pattern making tools in the 123 Design to create simple 2D Patterns while at the same time introduce student on Arduino base Robotic System.

It is expected that upon completing this workshop that student should have the basic knowledge on how:

  • To create simple 2D Pattern (E.g. Square, Circle, Triangles and Rectangles) using the 123D Design Software Tools;
  • How to write Arduino C Program that would access MCU Digital Pins to activate a simple LED Light. Creating 2D pattern using AutoCad 123D Design;
  • In this lesson the student will learn how to use the simple pattern making tools to create basic objects as Square, Circles, Triangles and rectangles. An introduction to the Arduino Embedded Devices;
  • Laboratory & Student Lesson Reviews – What we learn so far
  • Upon the completing the Workshop 3.1 the student is encouraged undertake the Lesson Comprehension & Proficiency Test in order to determine the level of understanding the student has achieved from the lesson taught on this passed Workshop;

Intermediate Guide to 3D Graphics

In this workshop the student will learn how to create complex 2D pattern using various 123D Design Tool Palettes as well as how to build Arduino base animatronics devices.

It is expected that upon completing this workshop that student should have the knowledge on how:

  • To create complex 2D patterns using the 123D Design Software Tools;
  • How to connect Actuators and Servos to Arduino Embedded devices as well as how to control these Electro-Mechanical devices through the Arduino C Program.
  • More on creating 2D Pattern with 123D Design;
  • In this lesson the student will learn the various technique and special tools to create complex 2D patterns designs.
  • Controlling Servos and Actuator with Arduino Embedded device
  • In this lesson the student will learn how to connect, program and control the various electromechanical actuators and servos.
  • Beginner Guide in using Blender
  • Basic Pattern Making using Blender Mesh Grids and Blender Editing Tools
  • Create basic simple 3D Objects using Blender Mesh Tools.

Advance Guide

In this workshop the student will learn how to:

  • Transform 2D pattern to 3D Objects using 123D Design Extrude Tool;
  • Modify, alter and merges various 3D Objects to produce unique complex 3D Objects ArtWorks;
  • Connect and Integrate Arduino Embedded devices with Desktop PC;

As well as introduce students to Blender 3D Studio Software; It is expected that upon completing this workshop that student should have the knowledge on how:

  • To create, edit and merges complex 3D Objects using the 123D Design Software Tools;
  • How to create and establish communication between Arduino Embedded devices and Host Desktop PC using USB Communication Protocols.
  • Creating complex 3d Objects pattern with 123D Design;
  • Transform 2D Patterns to a 3D Objects;
  • Alter or modify 3D Objects using the various 3D modeling tool set;
  • Combine and merges different 3D Objects to produces unique 3D Object art works design;
  • Exporting 123D Design Objects to 3D Printers and Blender 3D Studio;
  • In this lesson the student will learn how to export virtual 3D Objects to a file that could be use by the 3D Printer to produce real world physical 3D artworks;
  • PC USB Communication with Arduino Embedded Devices;
  • In this lesson the student will learn how to send message command between desktop pc and Arduino embedded device through USB Communication protocol.
